People may not take action because they don’t understand cyber threats or their exposure to them.

- Yet, only half of survey respondents correctly identified ransomware attacks, suggesting that many still don't know the correct red flags to watch for.
Despite their concern over cyber breaches, people are not doing enough to protect themselves.
- Barely one third limit the companies to which they provide personal information, such as email or home addresses.
- Only 30% regularly change their online passwords, one of the easiest ways to protect against cybercrime.
